Inonotus obliquus

Chaga mushrooms (Inonotus obliquus) are a type of medicinal mushroom that have been used in traditional medicine for centuries. Chaga is a fungus that grows primarily on birch trees, where it forms a dark, woody mass. It has a long history of traditional use in a variety of cultures and is commonly prepared as a tea or extract. Chaga naturally contains a variety of plant and fungal compounds, including polyphenols and triterpenes. Because it grows on birch trees, it also contains naturally occurring betulinic acid derived from its host.
In addition to hot beverages, organic chaga mushroom powder may be combined with citrus juice and spirits in cocktails (or sparkling soda in mocktails). The powder is also an excellent addition to savory soups, stews and stir-fries. It may also be infused in oil for making salves.
Some people should avoid certain mushrooms due to allergies, medical conditions, or medications.
