Add a dash of Cayenne powder to soups, eggs, hummus, vegetables, cornbread, and greens. For a special treat, add a pinch to your coffee or hot cacao.
Cayenne pepper contains naturally occurring nutrients and plant compounds, including vitamins A, E, and C, as well as carotenoids such as beta carotene, cryptoxanthin, lutein, and zeaxanthin. It also provides naturally occurring minerals, including manganese, potassium, copper, iron, magnesium, selenium, phosphorus, and zinc. Nutrient levels may vary depending on growing conditions, processing, and serving size. The capsaicin in chili peppers is what gives them their heat.
