Cayenne powder, 90M HU
This cayenne powder is roughly twice as hot as our regular cayenne powder, providing some serious heat with 90,000 Scoville heat units.
The capsaicin in chili peppers is what gives them they’re heat. Quite ironically, capsaicin is a potent pain reliever and is used for topical pain relief due to its analgesic properties. Capsaicin is also beneficial for rhinitis, nasal congestion, digestion, metabolism, sinus pain and pressure, and headaches.
Cayenne pepper contains large amounts of vitamin A, an antioxidant that helps maintain good health, proper brain function, and healthy skin. It also contains vitamin E, an antioxidant that slows the aging process, balances hormones, repairs damaged skin, and maintains healthy cholesterol levels. Cayenne is also high in antioxidant vitamins C, beta carotene, cryptoxanthin, choline, lutein, and zeaxanthin. Cayenne peppers also have vitamins B1, B2, B6, K, folate, manganese, potassium, copper, iron, magnesium, selenium, phosphorus, and zinc.
Add a dash of Cayenne powder to soups, eggs, hummus, vegetables, cornbread, and greens. For a special treat, add a pinch to your coffee or hot cacao.
Capsaicin interacts with certain medications. As always with any spice or herb, please consult a medical professional before incorporating Capsaicin or chili peppers into your diet or self-care plan.
